10 Girl's Day news to look back from August 2018

The busiest month yet for Girl's Day is finally over. Welcome september, here we come. Well, except for Minah who's busy filming for her drama. I miss Minah on variety shows. She's been laying low for a long time now.



I hope we'll get to see her soon before, during or after her drama will air. Sojin might be the busiest of them all. Sojin is indeed Exhausted.... (thumbs up if you'll get this haha) Anyways, from group performance to individual shows, we're all blessed in the past 31 days. Surprised our not limited data survived with all the shows that aired. It's a new month and it might be as busy as august but we'll see how it goes.



1. Sojin's OST for the drama Life - ' Close Your Eyes'




Very surprised for this one. Thank you, JTBC. It's been a while since a Girl's Day member sang an OST so this a special treat for us!



2. Hyeri's movie 'Monstrum' trailer, released!






All hype for this movie which will air on september 12. Promotions are rolling, previews are out and dates were set for other international premiere. wow.



3. Girl's Day performed on an event for the first time in 2018!




After other postponements and the long wait, Girl's Day finally performed last august 4. What an eventful day. Girl's Day performed in KB Kookmin Bank Liiv Concert.

4. Yura on Sea Police







*Laughs at tiny Yura* It's already on its 3rd episode. It's supposed to be 4 episodes but it was extended for one more. It's good to see Yura out of her comfort zone. She's determined on every task. Her laugh and other antics are always a must see on every episode.









5. Hyeri earns high praise for her attitude from 'Monstrum' co-star Kim Myung Min




After working together with Hyeri on the film, Kim Myung Min reported being impressed by her talent and her open-minded approach to acting. “She is always ready to learn,” he said, “and she has an amazing mindset. If you give her something to work with, she’ll absorb it like a sponge and make it her own. She is extremely talented.”
Hyeri also expressed her gratitude for Kim Myung Min’s support on set, remarking, “He took such great care of me during filming. I’m very thankful. I received a lot of love while filming the movie.”

Co-stars always had a good thing to say about Hyeri. Don't mind the knetizen's shenanigans and we'll get to see positive responses one of these days.



6. Hyeri shares her excitement for first film and her experience preparing for it (new photoshoot for Elle)



When asked how she felt about her upcoming film debut, Hyeri replied, “It wasn’t a difficult decision to appear in the film because I was excited to show a new side of me that even I found new.” 
She also shared some behind-the-scenes stories from filming “Monstrum” as she said, “I’ve always dreamed about what it would be like to be part of an action film. I think I was able to have more fun preparing for my role because I received a lot of praise at the action school. I went at it with the mindset of, ‘Let’s be passionate about it like a burning flame.'”

Hyeri having a photoshoot once in a while, that's always a good thing because of the interview and other stuff. We get to know Hyeri's thoughts and also the visual feast of this photoshoot.



7. Gong Myung & Sojin to star in new JTBC Drama Special



Gong Myung and Girl’s Day’s Sojin will be starring in a new single-episode JTBC drama special called “The Essence of Happiness” (working title), with filming set to begin next week.
The drama is about the small happinesses that the people of today enjoy, following Jin Soo (Gong Myung), who works to overcome everyday stressors with 12 small sources of happiness, and his romance with a woman, Jung Soo (Sojin), who appears to him during his time of modest happiness.

It's been a while since Oh! Dear Half-Basement Goddesses and i'm happy Sojin snatched another role. It's just one episode and i hope it will be subbed though.



8. Han Ji Min & Ji Sung thank Hyeri for her support for “Familiar Wife”




Han Ji Min wrote, “Hyeri, who appeared on set like sunshine on a rainy day. The whole crew was smitten. Let’s work hard today as well with these feelings of excitement!” 
Ji Sung expressed, “Hyeri gifted our team a coffee truck today. Thanks so much!! ‘Entertainer'” 
Hyeri notably worked with the two leads of “Familiar Wife,” Ji Sung and Han Ji Min, in other dramas. She starred in SBS’s “Hyde, Jekyll, Me” in 2015 alongside Han Ji Min, and headed SBS’s “Entertainer” with Ji Sung in 2016.

Entertainment industry is a small world and it's good to have a former co-star supporting future projects. Hyde, Jekyll Me and Entertainer were both dramas that didn't live to its potential but the casts chemistry and friendship goes on after it's over.



9. Sojin confirmed as one of the MC for FashionN's 'Follow Me 10'


Another one for Sojin! So now she's MC of 3 shows along with Got Ya GWSN & Man VS Child Korea. Her stage play Love Score is still going on. She has a drama coming up. Damn. Sojin is everywhere. We're still waiting for solo debut which will never happen. Less than 200 days before her contract expires so we better enjoy these as much as we can.

10. '2018 Red Angel K-Pop Festival in Jarasum' that supposed to be held on August 24 - 26 has been postponed for safety reason due to thypoon. Girl's Day was scheduled to perform on August 26
